This is a special one day clinic that is set up to coach people already trimming their own horses or client horses. Attendees MUST have trimming experience and their own tools!
Our goal is to support the coastal horse trimming community & to encourage local trimmers (professional or amateur) & farriers to develop & share effective conservative trimming techniques. We will also cover boot fitting, nutrition, thrush, hoof balance, recognizing soundness and unsoundness, tools and tool use as time allows.
The clinic cost is a regional special $100 per day rate (normally this is $150, but money is tight!).
Class size is limited to 10 human attendees. Each attendee may bring one horse. Linda will trim extra horses for a $70 fee, pre-a ranged, She will also step in to help others trim their horses as required and to demonstrate techniques.
Boots are suggested for the front feet of most horses coming out of shoes, & may be suggested for rear feet. Linda can provide boots and fitting but we need to arrange 3 weeks in advance to ensure that the boots are on hand.
The format is very informal! Bring chairs, a hat, a bag lunch and water If you are bringing a horse, please bring a water bucket and hay.
We will start at 10:00 am to give folks time to get their horses here and settled, and finish between 5 and 6 pm. |
