Granddar's shoes came off on 9/7/2005, so almost 6 months have passed. He's been ridden in Epics on a regular basis throughout his transition.

Granddar's transition was delayed because he lost hoof wall in the quarters where the nails had been, and this resulted in slower sole depth development. His age (mid 20's) may have attributed to his slower wall and sole growth.

In spite of these impediments, Granddar's feet are now in fantastic shape! Check out the thick walls and clean concavity! This concavity is natural; it wasn't carved.
