Samson's toes continue to grow long between each trim, and while he seemed sounder in February, his movement wasn't what we wanted. He was slightly off on the front. He has had soundness problems for years,but it was discouraging to have the unsoundness linger because we had both hoped that barefoot would be the answer for this fine horse.

His digital cushion and lateral cartilages were scrawny and weak. That ended up being a key point.
