Barefoot
Community List (was
Advocates List)
I used to maintain the United
Horsemanship Grooms list. I
recently noticed that the UH
site is down temporarily, and
I frantically searched my files
to see if I still have those
names and addresses if I need
them!!! Yikes!
So now I'm offering to manage
a list of barefoot community
members with contact information.
There are many folks in the
barefoot community now. Some
of us are professional barefoot
farriers with certifications,
some are savvy owners doing
our best to keep our horses
sound, some are owners with
good pro folks trimming our
horses... but some of us are
desperately trying to take their
horses barefoot in regions without
a professional who can provide
assistance and training.
My concern is this... These
new, easy-to-use protective
boots mean that many horse owners
are eager to learn more about
Barefoot. I don't want them
to try barefoot and fail because
the weren't prepared and supported.
Barefoot folks are great at
reaching out and providing support
online, and we need start organizing
regionally to support and educate
each other in person. If we
know who our neighboring trimmers
and barefoot community members
are, we can meet to exchange
information, provide regional
support, and help others avoid
the problems that many of us
have experienced by now.
Join the community.
Email your information to
HealthyHoof@comcast.net
and I'll create and manage the
list.
